Being a country located by the sea, Portugal does its best to enjoy everything the sea has to offer: the beach, the waves, and, of course, the food.  In Europe, only Icelanders eat more fish than the Portuguese!

When:  Tuesday, June 4th, starting at 9.30am till about 1.00pm thereabouts

Where:  Elisabete’s home in Heidelberg (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)

What:  Cheap, plentiful and freshly caught, sardines are at their plumpest and tastiest going into the summer.  Our seafood menu starts off with a Portuguese specialty often served before a meal – “Sardine Pâté with Capers“.   For our main course, we will be preparing “Caldeirada“, the Portuguese fisherman’s flavourful and hearty seafood stew.   For dessert, we look to Portugal’s orange groves for inspiration – in the form of “Delícia de Laranja“, a fragrant and citrusy cake.

There is space for 8 participants.  Registration opens early May. The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
