Irish cuisine is rooted in simplicity, seasonality, and a deep respect for ingredients. Shaped by the island’s green pastures, rugged coastline, and long culinary traditions, Irish food celebrates what the land and sea generously provide – potatoes, dairy, fresh fish, hearty breads, and honest, comforting flavors.
When: Saturday, May 9th 2026, starting at 18.00 hours till about 22.30 hours thereabouts
Where: Maria Luz and Joachim’s home in Weinheim (address will be provided to those attending)
What: For this Irish-inspired Cook-and-Dine session, we’ll explore a menu that celebrates the heartiness and warmth of Ireland’s culinary traditions. We begin with “boxty” – classic Irish potato pancakes — served with sour cream, smoked salmon, and a crisp green salad to balance textures and flavors. Next comes a comforting “chowder”, rich and creamy filled with tender pieces of fish or seafood, and accompanied by freshly baked “soda bread” perfect for soaking up every last spoonful. To conclude on a sweet note, we’ll prepare “bread and butter pudding” finished with a luscious “butterscotch sauce” – a timeless dessert that captures the simple, homely warmth of an Irish kitchen.
There is space for 8 participants. Contact me to register April 9th onwards. Once you have registered, make sure to let us know if you have any special dietary requests so that we may adjust the menu accordingly. The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
Go raibh maith agaibh!
