Colombian cuisine is hearty, generous, and deeply rooted in regional traditions. Shaped by a blend of Indigenous, Spanish, and African influences, it reflects the country’s diverse landscapes — from fertile highlands to tropical coasts. Meals are often abundant and comforting, designed to nourish and bring people together around the table.
One of its most iconic expressions is Bandeja Paisa, a dish from the Antioquia region. Known for its generous variety and bold flavors, it tells a story of agricultural life, where energy-rich ingredients were essential for long days of work. Today, it remains a beloved symbol of Colombian hospitality and abundance.
When: Saturday, September 26th, starting at 18.00 hours till about 22.30 hours thereabouts
Where: Yaneth and Jochen’s home in Lambsheim (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)
What: In this Cook-and-Dine session, we’ll prepare and enjoy Bandeja Paisa — a vibrant and satisfying platter that brings together a variety of components, each with its own texture and flavor.
Expect a spread that may include red beans slow-cooked with spices, rice, ground beef, chorizo, crispy pork belly, fried egg, plantains, pico de gallo and avocado — all coming together in one generous plate. Along the way, we’ll explore the balance between richness and freshness that makes this dish so distinctive.
There is space for up to 10 participants. Please contact me to register from August 26th, and share any dietary requirements when signing up.
The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
