Happy Canada Day!  On July 1, 1867, the nation was officially born when the Constitution Act joined three provinces into one country:  Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Canada province, which then split into Ontario and Quebec.

Every 1st of July, people across Canada gather for patriotic parades, barbecues and picnics, festivals, sporting events, and fireworks displays.  Right in the heart of celebrations with neighbours, friends and family, you will find great food.

Wear something red and white, and come join us!

When:  Tuesday, July 2nd, starting at 9.30am till about 1.00pm thereabouts

Where:  Diana’s home in Plankstadt (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)

What:  We will be cooking the Canada Day theme of red, white, and maple syrup.  Canada Day usually means barbecues, so our menu is going to look something like this:  maple-glazed baby-back ribs and chicken (for those who may not want pork).  Sides include a red and white bean salad, and a watermelon and feta salad.  For dessert, there’s cream cheese bars with cherry topping.  There will also be spiced maple iced tea to quench our thirst.

There is space for 10 participants.  Registration opens early June. The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
