Few ingredients are as universal as the potato. Originally cultivated in the Andes of South America, it traveled across continents to become a staple in countless cuisines. Today, potatoes are enjoyed in an astonishing variety of ways — mashed, baked, fried, roasted, boiled, grated, stuffed, and transformed into dishes that range from rustic comfort food to refined culinary creations.
Often overlooked because of their familiarity, potatoes are remarkably versatile. Their ability to absorb flavors, adapt to different cooking methods, and pair with ingredients from around the world has earned them a place at tables across cultures and generations.
When: Saturday, October 17th, starting at 18.00 hours till about 22.30 hours thereabouts
Where: Larissa and Frank’s home in Nussloch (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)
What: For this Cook-and-Dine session, we invite you to rediscover the humble potato. While it may seem plain and familiar at first glance, this versatile ingredient is anything but boring. The menu will remain a surprise until the evening itself, but rest assured that we won’t be preparing the usual potato dishes that immediately come to mind. Instead, expect a selection of creative and unexpected preparations that showcase the potato’s remarkable range, proving that one of the world’s simplest ingredients can still surprise, delight, and inspire.
There is space for up to 8 participants. Please contact me to register from September 17th, and share any dietary requirements when signing up.
The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
Thank you!
