New Orleans is one of America’s food meccas – the vibrant mix of the city’s French, Spanish, African and Caribbean cultures are reflected in its local Creole and Cajun cuisines.
In this “Cook-and-Dine” session, we will be embarking on a pilgrimage to New Orleans!
When: Saturday, January 14th 2023, starting at 18.00 hours till about 22.30 hours thereabouts
Where: Janine’s and Robert’s home in Schwetzingen (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)
What: Creole food combines bold, spicy and tangy flavors with rich sauces, smoky meats and signature ingredients to create a cuisine all its own. One of the dishes we will be making is one that epitomizes the melting pot nature of Louisiana cooking – the Jambalaya. Another must-have from New Orleans are beignets – since we can’t get some from Café du Monde (aka the best beignets in New Orleans), we found a recipe which brings us close!
There is space for 10 participants. Contact me from December 14th 2022 onwards to register, and let me know if you have any special dietary requests so that we may adjust the menu accordingly. The list of participants will be finalized by December 31st 2022.
Thanks!
