Get ready to embark on a flavorful journey through the Caribbean! Known for its bold spices, vibrant ingredients, and sun-soaked spirit, Caribbean cuisine is a lively fusion of African, Indigenous, European, and Asian influences. Each island brings its own twist, but across the region, you’ll find food that’s fresh, soulful, and made to be shared.
When: Saturday, September 27th, starting at 18.00 till about 22.30 thereabouts
Where: Yaneth’s and Jochen’s home in Lambsheim (address will be provided to those attending)
What: In this “Cook-and-Dine” session, we’ll embark on a hands-on culinary adventure as we prepare a classic Caribbean meal from scratch. You’ll start by learning how to score and season a whole fish using traditional island herbs and spices. Then, we’ll cook fragrant coconut rice, fry ripe plantains to golden perfection, and toss a vibrant salad with a tropical twist. To finish, we’ll enjoy a sweet and comforting dessert – moist banana cake, a beloved treat that reflects the warmth of Caribbean hospitality.
Whether you’re here to discover new flavors, enjoy good company, or simply have fun in the kitchen, this evening is all about exploring the taste of the Caribbean – one bite at a time.
There is space for 8 participants. Contact me to register August 27th onwards. Once you have registered, make sure to let us know if you have any special dietary requests so that we may adjust the menu accordingly.
