Olá!
Although Portuguese food isn’t as famous as French, Italian or even Spanish, it has influenced the world. Portuguese have changed the history by cruising the world during the age of discoveries, doing trade with Africa, America, and Asia, even reaching Japan. Did you know that it was the Portuguese that brought and popularised tomatoes and potatoes, and even tea, in Europe?
Pork is especially popular in Portugal, and codfish “bacalhau” is the country’s national dish. In this session, we will get acquainted with some traditional Portuguese flavours.
When: Tuesday, March 10th 2020, starting at 9.30am till about 1.00pm thereabouts
Where: Elisabete’s home in Heidelberg (address will be provided to those attending one week before the event begins)
What: Elisabete will be introducing us to “Caldo Verde“, the most traditional of Portuguese soups. Main course will be a cod fish dish “Bacalhau à mediterrânea com arroz e grelos“. For dessert, we will enjoy “Pudim de Coco“.
There is space for 8 participants. Registration opens early February. The list of participants will be finalised two weeks before event date.
Obrigada!
