New Orleans is one of America’s food meccas – the vibrant mix of the city’s French, Spanish, African and Caribbean cultures are reflected in its local Creole and Cajun cuisines. I can’t wait to embark on our pilgrimage with some Creole dishes!
When: Wednesday, October 12th, starting at 9.00am till about 1.00pm thereabouts
Where: Amy’s home in Weinheim (address will be provided to those attending)
What: “Shrimp Remoulade Salad” is New Orleans’ interpretation using the French condiment. Up next – the iconic “Seafood Gumbo” – a thick, hearty soup cooked long and slow. Finally, we will transform day-old bread into an indulgence – rich, flavorful “Bread Pudding with a Whisky sauce”, the ultimate grown-up comfort food!
Note that we need to start at 9am so that the Gumbo simmers for at least 90 minutes to achieve the height of its flavour. Amy will already prepare the seafood stock one day before, because we cannot have a good seafood gumbo without a good seafood stock!
This session is full, but you can get on the waiting list by submitting the booking form.
