Food Explorers and Leonor Capristano from Leonor’s Sweet Creations got together on April 5, 2017 to present “The Great Food Explorers Bake Off”, an event inspired by the popular TV show “The Great British Bake Off”. Unlike the original show however, we were not looking to crown Food Explorers’ best baker. Instead, it was a friendly competition to come up with edible masterpieces.
We were given a time frame of 3 hours (the cakes were pre-baked), and after sharing a few handy tips on decorating and showing us some tricks of the trade, Leonor split us into 4 teams and set us loose to work on our own cakes. We went with the theme “Easter” as it’s just around the corner.
A big “Thank You” to Leonor for making this Great Food Explorers Bake-Off a fun, stress-free session for everyone! We will be renaming this event, as it was really tough picking the winning cake – they all look so pretty.
